Hall of Fame linesman Ray Scapinello has joined the Scotiabank®
Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer team!
Ray Scapinello officiated his first NHL game on October 17, 1971 and 33 years later, on April 2, 2004, he completed his final NHL contest. His career included 2,500 regular season games, 426 playoff games and 20 Stanley Cup Final contests. Not once through his extraordinary career did he miss an assignment to illness or injury. Ray, whose size and speed as well as his skill and fairness made him prominent through the years, was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in the Officials’ Category in 2008. His autobiography, Between the Lines: Not-So-Tall Tales From Ray ‘Scampy’ Scapinello's Four Decades in the NHL, is a must-read for hockey fans.
