After three successful seasons playing U.S. college hockey, earning All-American accolades in 1973, Pat Boutette joined the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1975-76. Proving that he was as tough as he was skilled, Pat found his spot in the Leafs lineup. During his fifth season in Blue and White, he was involved in one of the series of controversial trades made by Toronto in 1979-80, finding himself joining the Hartford Whalers. He was later traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins, but concluded his NHL career with a final stop back in Hartford. Pat collected 453 points and 1,354 penalty minutes in 756 regular season NHL contests.
