Two-time Olympic gold medallist Meaghan Mikkelson has joined the Scotiabank®
Road Hockey To Conquer Cancer team!
Meaghan is the proud owner of two Olympic Gold medals, one won at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games and the other at the 2014 Winter Olympics. In 2007, while playing for the Wisconsin Badgers, Meaghan played on the All-WCHA First Team, was named WCHA Defensive Player of the Year and was a top candidate for the Patty Kazmaier Award - presented annually to the league’s top player. At the 2011 IIHF Women’s World Championship, she was named to the Media All-Star Team and was the recipient of the Directorate Award as Best Defender. Earlier in 2016, Meaghan and her Calgary Inferno team won the CWHL’s Clarkson Cup. She and former teammate Natalie Spooner finished second in the second season of Amazing Race Canada. Meaghan’s hockey bloodlines run deep: her father Bill and brother Brendan both played in the NHL, and her great-uncle Jimmy McFadden was the NHL’s rookie of the year in 1948 and won the Stanley Cup with Detroit in 1950.
